Our Story

I have fond memories as a child of cooking with Mum, and from an early age cooking some of the family meals. My career in food has taken me all around the world but Hawkes Bay is home and where I have settled.

After many years in the Ready Meal sector, it was time for a change…. I used to drive past the Municipal Building every day on the way to work and just wanted to see what was happening behind the scenes, so I went to look out of curiosity. What stemmed from that first visit was a vision. A vison to create a business that has the most amazing Long Island Counter packed full of proteins and colourful salads.

Life is all about balance and the way we eat is changing, people are more health conscious wanting to make better decisions about their diet which can often be hard when grabbing something on the run. Often what we grab is a sandwich or pie but it’s not really what we want or need.

Long Island Deli promises to have something for everyone, pop in when you are next driving past, you can’t miss us on the corner, come check out our fabulous mural, stunning décor and of course our fabulous food we are a destination to entice the senses.
